Quick general update

Crazy August is finally over – Mix of vacation, business trips and busyness with projects has prevented us from keeping in close contact with you guys in relation to WarClicks. But that aside, we have managed to get a lot done – even though with some unexpected delays and extra work with the game code re-base, but at least we will have a lot of future development issues solved by doing more in one go than we initially planned.

Code rework & idle elements

We are currently doing major rework of our code for WarClicks, as it being a work in progress, tons of issues have clumped over time. So we will be re-basing pretty much all of the code as it is keeping our overall progress clogged, and at the same time the re-base will solve a few of the biggest issues with the game. Mainly we are removing a lot of the unnecessary server calls which could cause laggy gameplay experience, and at the same time doing vast optimizations to client-side code, so game should run much smoother after these changes.  Perhaps even more importantly, it will allow us to make the game more modular and easy to upgrade, giving us a much better base to work on and prepare for including idle play, unlimited play and unlimited gameplay experience. Basically, it should be one of the most important steps to making the game much more enjoyable to play.

Once the rework is complete, adding idle play to the game is next on our list, so the Continue reading

AutoClicker feature added

Thanks to a lot of player feedback and further analysis, we’ve decided to add a new feature to the game,  that will take the strain away from constant need for clicking during attacking, making the game far more enjoyable to play, both for old and new players.

Autoclicker Warclicks

Autoclicker Warclicks

AutoClicker is a feature that will surely make all the clicking a lot less tedious – with it you can if you wish, progress through the game while doing other things, but at the cost of missing those fuel and gold drops J. If you prefer mindless clicking, you can always disable Autoclicker to buy upgrades at the perfect time and maximize your game progress!

When starting the Country invasion, players will face at first face some easy battles, which also one soldier can defeat in a single day. But soon the battles will become tougher and it will be impossible for a single soldier to complete an invasion on his own, or at the very least it will take you a while. To progress through the country Continue reading

Country invasion

We will finally be adding the first long-awaited missing elements of community to the game, via the release of “Country Invasion”. It should help boost activity within countries and get players to work more together towards a common goal by defeating daily invasions with their countrymen to claim the war spoils.

Tutorials

Perhaps the ones of you who have been around for longer, might not have noticed this as you’re already past the “tutorial point”. We’ve done a huge overhaul to the messaging and tutorial system at the beginning of the game. The old one with tutorial popups was way too intrusive (sometimes also annoying) and we’ve now made it much cleaner and user-friendly. Not to mention it gives us a lot of options for adding potential future narrative.

Competitive game elements

Lately, WarClicks is getting more and more traffic from all over the world. New players are persistent to overcome the most powerful soldiers in the game. However, we are aware that we need to do lots of improvements in the game to make it even more appealing and also even more competitive.

For that reason, we will (in the near future) start developing an additional feature that will make competition between countries far more interesting. We count on
