Competition Rework coming next Monday!

The next two months we have A LOT of important and cools updates planned for War Clicks, to improve your experience by making it more fun, engaging and smooth!

 

One of the first ones to come is related to some changes of how weekly competitions work, as there are currently some issues that keep competitions too stagnant/ boring/ results not changing and the way they are implemented also create massive implementation and performance issues on the backend, that simply are not prepared for scaling of our game’s user base, especially with the growth plans we have for the future!

 

So we are making some core changes to how competitions work, to make them more attractive and resolve the scaling issues they were/are causing:

1) So far competitions were available to & rewarding all players, registered or „guests“. And as registered users tend to play more actively, a large chunk of rewards were given to „guests“ who would likely stop playing much sooner and their rewards go to waste basically (instead of more active players getting them).

 

So that is the first change we will be doing – all competitions will from the update onwards be available and rewarding ONLY registered users. (A registered user is considered someone who registered on WarClicks.com or is a logged in ArmorGames player)

 

2) Besides the Weekly Levels gained and Contractors % Increase competitions, all the rest were looking at „fixed values“ instead of what a user gained DURING the competition. This caused a huge issue, where (i.e. For score competition) top users would constantly be getting the same rewards – even if they were inactive during the competition, simply because they clung to their place during it! The idea behind weekly competitions is to stimulate and reward activity during a week, hence why we will be changing all 5 existing competition types to rank off “gain” instead of just fixed/total value.

 

  • We will be also improving the clarity of the competitions AND the “your ranking“ widget. These will now be separate buttons – competition results will now be visible fully within the game without opening a new tab for you. Much more useful to see how and where you rank! A lot more people will be paying attention to the competition results now, so make sure to customize a bad-ass character in your profile, so people remember you when they see you in the top rankings!

WarClicks Rework deploy date and more info

We’re excited to let you know that the massive update/rework of WarClicks is scheduled to be released end of next week!

A lot of information has already been released in our blog and Reddit about various changes, improvements and additions, but today we want to share more info on why and how we will transition everyone’s progress to the reworked version.

One of the main goals (besides improving optimization, design and smoothness of the game) was to make the game more competitive by introducing mechanics that allow for different strategies, get rid of the linearity and just make the game a whole lot more fun to play!

Due to several technical issues of old game implementation (especially in WarZone), as well as making sure both existing and new players get a great experience of the game, we will be doing some changes (read: partial reset) to the current game stat of existing players.

We have taken great consideration of all the time and work you guys have invested into the game already, and have come to several solutions that will work really well with the rework – ensuring your past work and time is valued, but at the same making sure existing players’ experience morphs neatly into the new game!

 

Let’s get to the main changes:

1) Score: To make scoring more interesting it will now be a mix of damage done inWarZone and a multiplier based on your total Power Points produced in BootCamp.

2) Following point one, existing score and basically all of WarZone state as is will be reset. As neither are workable with the new improved progression, competitions, some technical restrictions and just in general how WarZone will now work and how more it will now tie to BootCamp.

 

What does this mean exactly for existing players:

– any badges and DPC boosts gained before the rework will be merged into one or two new badges, which will give you massive boosts (relative to your current power of boosts, but not exactly the same) that will help you speed up through the early game much faster. But to ensure the game remains competitive with new players, these badges will be temporary and valid untill the end of 2017.

– Any Gold you spent in WarZone will be refunded and added to your account IN FULL!

Things to come on WarClicks- PART2

As we announced in our previous post, we are fully working on a rework. Today we are sharing the renewed graphics of Upgrades in BootCamp, so you can get a better look into all of the things we are working on. Although the mechanics of upgrades in BootCamp stays the same, we’ve improved the way it looks and feels. And there’s a dozen of changes like this one coming! Game should look more professional and also attract more experienced players to join us! Most of these „pop-ups“ will also have a question box to better explain the functionality and give more information on the all the features. Who knows, maybe even you’ve missed some important and interesting details!
