War Clicks overview – future updates/ coming up in the next weeks/ months…

Today, we had a great briefing at our office regarding the future of War Clicks! There’s a lot of things we still want to properly consider to work towards, but we wanted to give you more information on what we are definitely focusing on next and working in the following weeks/months. We’ll soon follow up with more details on a more long-term plan for the game as well!

So without further ado, let’s get into the fun part – what we’ll be delivering to you in the following days/weeks :)

 

We are currently working on various unlock additions to the command center, primarily focusing on Quality of Life (QoL) and automation settings, as we believe that is a very important part of any deep incremental to make it more enjoyable by simplifying repeat of arbitrary actions!

 

First of them, we plan to add the “Buy all units” option to Boot Camp, which will allow you to buy all BC units (based on your current buy amount setting) in a specific order – which you will be able to set -we are aiming to add this tomorrow 😉

 

Besides that, we also want to add a buy 10/Max to Army Setup in War Zone, “best benefit” order to Army Setup HQ upgrades, AutoClicker boosts + improvements, and various other similar settings. Lastly, we are strongly considering adding a Continue reading

Coming out this week…

Hey everyone,

This week we have one of the most anticipated and needed set of updates coming up – major balance and progression improvements! These will address many issues where users are not getting a great experience, as the game is too slow, or feels imbalanced, and just simply the numbers don’t seem as fine tuned as they could be.

In short, we will mainly be addressing privatization boosts, upgrades in Boot Camp, unit strengths in War Zone, War Zone upgrade costs, achievement/level/rank rewards and some other tid bits.

As the game is live with thousands of players it is imperative to us that we do these changes in such a manner that it doesn’t ruin your experience at any point, for anyone – i.e. That you’d have significantly slower progression after the update. So worry not about that, as one of the reasons why this is taking so long is due to us preparing tons of test accounts at various points, to ensure we don’t degrade the experience, but improve it!

The updates will be rolled out in a few sets, starting with privatization boost changes and/or vast upgrades’ multipliers improvements and addition of new in Boot Camp, especially at late game – this first set will be rolled out on Tuesday this week! GameDev update – August 17th

Yesterday & Today we’ve had to deal with some unexpected issues/tasks but still managed to get a few things deployed:

  • fixed display of Rank rewards to show proper base DPC gain when achieving a specific rank
  • fixed Support Upgrades total “base” power by unit type to not be multiplied by PvP power in the upgrades section as it was misleading
  • buying HQ DPC upgrades will now immediately properly refresh the level of the current upgrade
  • Added an info popup after deploying for first time to make it clearer what happened ot new users
  • Added a similar popup to privatization, that will appear every privatization as it’s quite rare and this helps ensure there’s no “confusion” what it does
  • 10% fuel upgrade restriction pops a confirmation if you’re above 90% fuel
  • resolved some major game loading speed issue, that was causing quite some issues, especially on Chrome

We are also preparing a full priority list of upcoming improvements, bugfixes, additions over the weekend, to give you a broader overview of what we are focusing on and what to expect to be sorted approximately when. We will update/upload it on Monday.

Country HQ balance & functionality improvements

Country Headquarters (HQ) feature has been out for about 2 weeks now, and we’ve received tons of positive feedback about it! During this time we have also looked at ways to improve and re-balance it. So we are glad to let you know that the following changes have been put live to make it an even better experience:

– Country upgrades voting council decision power has been increased from 50 to 75%

– Air Strike voting council decision power has been increased from 75 to 85%

– Air Strike minimum overall voting participation has been reduced from 50% to 40%

– Voting Power gained from donations (per 100 gold) has been increased from 0.01 to 0.1.

– Voting Power per rank has been increased from 0.5 to 1

– Clicking force multiplier gained from donations (per 100 gold) has been increased/doubled from 0.001 to 0.002!

– The „spoils increase“ country upgrade has been buffed significantly. From 1%/2%, to 5%/10% increase.

-„Extra chances“ reward eligibility on spoils convert have been buffed from a 1% increase to a 5%. We’ve also made it clearer on how this value can be increased.

All of the above changes have been done to ensure voting on choices is effective and with best interests of the country in mind, as well as give a more significant reward to players who donate – not only in making decisions, but also getting a bit more directly out of it via increased Clicking Force. We will be having a look every week and adjust things additionally to deliver you the best experience possible! Note that any potential upgrade or donation changes will have these effects applied, even if they were done before :)

Updates 13th-16th March

During the past few days we were resolving several bugs and issues, mostly related to performance, slow loading times and connection errors – all of these resulted in more random issues/bugs/rare occasions popping up and were crucial to get sorted and improved. So most of the notes here might be a bit boring for some of you as they are more of a technical nature, but we fell it’s important to realize the scale of the „backend updates“ we are resolving and why some bugfixes and improvements had to be put on hold slightly:

  • vastly improved loading/server response time within the game. All those pretty stats and leaderboards started taking a huge toll on the performance of the game and needed some rework of how it’s all handled.
  • Invasion minigame could take several seconds to open for some countries, now it should be super quick!
  • We have resolved the issue with weekly competitions not giving out all badges to users in some cases -> this will now work properly starting with the next competition (Monday 19th onwards)
  • as Part of competitions optimization, we have also made a change where country competition badges will only be given to players within that country who participated/played in that competition week. Giving badges to all (even players no longer playing) was not only a bit silly, but also caused a huge toll on our servers.  Continue reading
