Sneak peaks of upcoming updates! (WIP – Part1)

As we are focused working on the big updates (lategame extension, research system, re-balancing), and are meanwhile not able to trickle many other updates, we figured to give you a sneak peak of these updates!

  • *Note that these are all work in progress, and UI, design and exact details are subject to major tuning still, and most things you see are placholders – we won’t use lego figures for the final release :)
  • We are also welcoming any feedback & further requests/ideas, as with a lot of core code prepared, we are now getting to the details of these updates, that are still very much agile and in continued discussion. Read below for detaisl on what exactly we’d love to hear more from you about.

RESEARCH SYSTEM

Here is the core of our “research system” – basic funtionality of inventory and technology generation, which believe it or not was one of the most time consuming parts of this feature.

“Boot Camp restarts”

This might not look like much, but most work for adding a feature where you can start a new Boot Camp is actually on the backend, and is mostly done! We’ve also already added limits on deploying, increased support unit gains from new worlds…

SUPPORT UNITS getting bigger
We’ve also finished recoding code that will allow us to support huge amounts of support units, which is the pillar for any balancing of deploys, new boot camp world, research system and balancign War zone progression.

WARZONE battles reworked
We have also reworked the way we create, read and store War Zone battles, which allows us to indefinitely scale battles, their units and optimzied the whoel procedure, which is not important for this update, but also any future ones. We also took the chance to do some quick additions in units you see on the battlefield and some graphical improvements.

There are many more details that these updates will cover, but we are happy to let you know that are progressing well, and have finished many of the most challenging Continue reading

BootCamp & game progression / balance changes

Today, we have deployed the first set of updates of major progression/balance changes, to make the game more engaging and interesting to play throughout. Mostly these changes will be noticed by new/“early game“ players and those who’ve reached the latest most stages of the game. The first set of changes is affecting only BootCamp! WarZone will be getting major changes as well, but due to the nature of it it requires more testing and fine-tuning to ensure we do not „break“ the existing experience for anyone, so changes there will be deployed next week.

After gathering statistics, feedback and a lot of testing these were the main issues we wanted to improve in BootCamp:
Too fast progression made things hard to follow/understand for most new players, as well as going through some early/mid game progression obstacles too quickly, and making the game feel “too easy”.

Super Late game was too uneventful with too slow progression and taking just too long before doing anything major again in BootCamp. Note that this is hard to balance and build “too in advance”, especially because any low/mid game changes affect the late game as well. So we first had to tackle with early/mid game, before taking that as a basis for further late game improvements. We’ve deployed the first set of late-game improvements and will be adding more in the following weeks slowly, as it’s a delicate balance we could easily break without enough testing for each.

In short, here’s the list of changes made (we’re happy to answer any further specifics or clarify something further, this is a general overview of what was changed):

Big progression improvement update!

We’ve just rolled out a big progression update to WarClicks, that will improve your gameplay experience and make playing a lot funner again!

While most of the changes touch the „late game“ progression, some traces of it will be found by everyone. With this change we have also remove the „reset rewards“ badges, that gave temporary boosts to players who joined WarClicks before 1st December 2017. We’re happy to say that the progression updates take the boost reduction for old players into account and for the most part you will maintain a similar level of progression getting back into the game – on top of progression/upgrades above you helping you out far better! Specifically WarZone DPC boosts were massive, so if you’re an old player that had a massive boost there you will note a significant drop in DPC there. But the battles and bosses toughness have been properly adjusted for that.

These changes mean that your progress/speed of gain in-game will possibly be a lot different than last time you checked – in some cases lowered, in some raised, depending on where in game you were. Make sure to check out both BootCamp and WarZone (especially HQ and support power upgrade in WZ!) upgrades, as you’ll likely be able to buy a ton of them from the get to if you’re at a higher stage in the game!

If you’re interested about the details (as well as some info on things we will still touch/improve) you will find them at the very bottom, but here’s a quick recap of the major progression changes – we touched as many areas of the game as possible and improved upon them.

New BootCamp & Army Privatization – Video

Feel free to check out new video of Jman37X and get to know more about BootCamp and its features to understand the game better and to gain more benefits against your opponents!

If there are still more questions about some features not described enough, please let us know and we’ll try to explain you in more details!

Enjoy watching the video 😉

First look at WarZone rework

As you already know one of the main goals of the upcoming WarClicks rework were to improve tons of bugs and performance issues and improve the user experience/functionality of the game… and make it look awesome with a complete graphical overhaul!

But we’re finally giving you a glimpse of THE biggest mechanical change – the way WarZone works and how it connects to BootCamp. WarZone has mechanically been pretty much the same since the first version of the game, and a big thorn in our development vision, as simply put, a lot of things with it just didn’t feel all that good… Too linear progression, not much connection with BootCamp, and it just got too repetitive way too fast because of that (and the bad UI/bugs!).

So one of the first changes we are doing, is making it connect with BootCamp in a meaningful and unique way! With the rework, units you build and train in BootCamp will be actually sent to WarZone when you deploy, and represent one of your main powers in battles. They will become a part of a support force, which you will be able to tactically use to help you progress through battles.  Choosing support at the right times can make all the difference…

Not only will they act as a support force, but also contribute for a part of your DPC.  Continue reading

BootCamp Goals Released

As you can see, we’ve uploaded a new feature to BootCamp yesterday.  With it, you are now able to check your current Total Power Points (PP) gained so far and your next goal and title that comes with it. We’ve decided to award you with different rewards when reaching a new title in BootCamp. You’ll be able to get Gold or x amount of PP every time you get a new title! Sounds good?

As the game is changing by its functions and upcoming updates, we will now have two different worlds with TOP leaders in one or another world – by picking different Continue reading
